Very good structure, no unnecessary information. Excellent photos and drawings (unfortunately the middle of the 2 pager pictures / drawings can be hardly seen). Highly recommended as basic summary of the topic.

A well put-together manual describing the different aspects of German assault guns in WW2. It's very much a 'reference work' rather than a 'story' (the best reference works can manage to be both like the awesome Panzers In Berlin 1945 volume), so it's not really something one reads front-to-back. There are plenty of good photos, a great spread showing all the unit insignia, tonnes of data. The main thing which is a bit sad is that it doesn't look like a native English speaker edited the book - it's like reading something on a computer that keeps glitching, you know what they're trying to say, but the phrasing is odd, and it happens a lot, multiple times on all pages. That's a shame because it's clear they know their stuff. The section listing and giving brief details of each brigade strength unit is disappointing because (a) it becomes very repetitious in terms of the information it provides (b) it doesn't really say anything particularly impactful about the units in question (c) only a few include details that give a sense of the experiences of those units beyond founding date, one or two named commanders, whether they were in the west or the east. So! Worthy effort on an underrated topic - with some things that stop it being a master work. Still worth it!

Useful clear photos and artwork. Translation slightly stilted. Reference photos of the uniforms very useful.

Although most of the information in the book has been around for years, it’s an excellent beginners reference for the Sturmgeschütz enthusiast. The book is well made with heavy duty, gloss paper that should hold up well to lots of use. Great photos, especially of the StuG crew uniforms. Overall excellent work with a very affordable price tag! Highly recommend!
