“Superb book with excellent photos all of super quality, which helps to bring the book to life The book covers the German attempt to stop the Russian advance in the East, thus allowing the civilian population to escape. The book conveys the hopeless situation the Germans faced. As well as the photos, some of which are in colour, there are numerous maps describing the situation as it unfolded. The text is in English and German. I can throughly recommend this book.”

“Fantastic book exceptionally well produced, superb quality photography. Text well written and very interesting, dealing as it does with the last months of the war, describing the increasingly desperate battles just to survive. Thoroughly recommend.”
