“I bought this book to eventually, when he is an adult, give to my 1 yr old grandson who was named after my late father, a quartermaster sergeant in the Koylis Polar Bear div and whose photographs appear in the book. My fluency in the French language is not sufficient to read the book easily from cover to cover but, to be honest, the photographs and diagrams are eloquent in themselves and I am regularly dipping in and out. This is a beautifully produced historical record and documents a period in European history which will soon lose any living participants.”

“Another Masterpiece From Maranes Editions , love the photos and there are many I have never seen before , if you don't read French Learn there is a huge wealth of knowledge in this book”

“I have no hesitation in stating that this is the best visual description of a battle and the area in which it took place that I have read, despite the excellent similar books by H&C Collections and Editions Heimdal which set the bar very high indeed. I am a convinced supporter of Maranes Editions and possess all of their material on Waffen SS units in Normandy thus far. The layout, memorabilia such as BD blouses with insignia rather than drawings, the fresh images, most of which I have never seen before easily overcome any issues with French language that might be seen by some as an obstacle to their enjoyment. This is the first book by this publisher to cover all nationalities rather than one of the units involved, I hope there are many more.”
