A finely produced, abundantly illustrated book which is a worthy companion to the other two on the HJ Pz Division - indeed, essential if the previous two have been collected. The French language used is not insuperable, and the photos alone make this work very desirable.

The third in the very detailed series covering the 12th SS Panzerdivision's involvement in Normandy. This large volume focusses on the panzer grenadiers, and contains a wealth of unpublished photo's as well as a few that are well known. A large number of very interesting "in action" shots, mostly of the men but some good vehicle photo's too. Text is of course in French but with limited language skills you can read the photo captions, and the book contains a lot of photo's. Overall a very well produced and interesting book, well bound with high quality paper. Recommended.

I am running out of superlatives for this publisher and his latest work is no exception; there is another aspect of this book to add greater value. 46 RM Cdo and elements of 12th SS met head-on in Rots a week or so after the D Day landings, this was a bitterly contested close combat resulting in the eventual withdrawal of 12th SS from the village. I have not been able to find more than two images of 46 Cdo anywhere until now!!! Wonderfully clear images are shown in this book of wounded prisoners wearing full insignia for that unit. This shows how thoroughly the author has gone into his subject; there are admittedly some (few) old chestnuts that have been published on numerous occasions but the author has incorporated them with other views I have not seen previously with a fuller informed comment. Unlike the other volumes on Leibstandarte and Das Reich which only cover the panzer troops, with the publication of this latest work, Hitler Youth has been fully covered including the infantry units, a trend I would like to see in any future works. I have all of this author's works up to now and have every intention of continuing this policy.
