Bought in 2015. Very good book. Supplemented with an fold up map of M.A.N Werk Nürnberg with all buildings. Stunning photos of Panthers, interior and exterior close ups (engine too). Bergepanthers. Series of photos from the final assembly hall. Photos of Marder II, a couple of other Panzerjägers, Pz. Kpfw. II & I, odd vehicles like Sperrmaschine amphibious truck etc., but most images of the big cat and of people. Panzer crews from LAH talking with M.A.N employees and more. 2 chapters deal with the destruction of the factory - still with many photos. Great story and captions. All photos, and they are many, are cristal clear. Buy this book if you are into the big cats and everything around it. I just love it.

Fascinating insight into the machinery and a little on the politics around sourcing.

For the price I was astounded at what a great book it is. It stands with much more expensive books in every detail, including a supplement that came with it. My interest in the big cats, primarily the Tiger E, includes how such heavy machines could be recovered in the primitive conditions of the Eastern Front where just because there was a dirt road ahead did not mean that the Tiger would not get just as stuck fast as it would have driving through a marsh. That these incredible land machines could be recovered at all, much less repaired with "make do" solutions really caused me to gain an interest in the heavy machines as problems to be solved as much as the vehicles' reputaitions for fighting. This extended to the Panther as well, and the factory gives a good look at how these legendary tanks were put together and later repaired and often became Frankenpanthers. If I am not mistaken, there is a photo of a Panther in a background of a photo that is quite a find of something quite rare. It would be a disservice to you the reader, if I told you what it is! I think the book as a whole is a wonderful achievement and will be of interest to historians as much as scale modelers! It is a keeper, so get one!
