“(Vol 1 & 2). The books provide a fascinating insight into the logistical difficulties and organisational requirements of maintaining panzers at the front. The books really show the need for logistical planning - starting with the need to order an appropriate quantity of spares during production. The volumes highlight the difficulties of sourcing replacement parts from various specialised factories in Germany and transporting them to a constantly changing location at the front. Recovery techniques and specialised vehicles (or lack thereof) are also covered. Photos are, as usual, excellent, unique and well captioned.”

“Repairing the Panzers Vol. 2 has a broad range of photographs of tanks in various states of repair and recovery that are fascinating in themselves and would inspire a range of dioramas for model builders. The technical information is fascinating. The sections on the causes of losses of Tiger tanks in 1943, and the mechanical and logistical problems faced during Operation Barbarossa are worth the price of the book by themselves.”
