I already have THE PANTHER PROJECT: VOLUME 1 - DRIVETRAIN AND HULL, along with the sister title, TIGER: A MODERN STUDY OF Fgst.NR. 250031. I have many reference works on these two subjects and, from a modeller's viewpoint, I don't know of any that comes close to the detail provided here. Continuing the excellent presentation style of the first two, this is a work heavy on illustration with just enough text to explain what is seen in the images. It is a restoration project so, whilst there are photos of the damaged and corroded pre-restoration parts, the bulk of the book presents a factory fresh, museum display-like, post-restoration vehicle. Apart from a couple of images of the disabled tank on the battlefield, you will have to look elsewhere for guidance on weathering. These two volumes would make the perfect accompaniment to Ryefield Models excellent Panther G with full interior!

The volume is extremely well written and copiously illustrated. I like the fact that all of the turret and engine is captured on this particular vehicle. You have to remember it's one vehicle, not the series and is the Ausf A, which despite its Ausf A is not first in series. An excellent support book if you're modelling, fascinating if you're just into tanks.
