Thorough book about the operational history of the independent Tiger battalions. I do like that there are many stories of individual actions where the tankers involved are named. What I don’t like is not enough maps so you can see where the action is occurring. The book is also written in chronological order so a particular battalion or company will appear in multiple places which is a bit confusing as opposed to taking one battalion and giving its entire story from beginning to end.

A very good one volume account on the history of the Tiger, from it's first combat use in late Aug 42 near Leningrad to the end of the Third Reich. This book scores very highly as it contains many first hand reports. Perhaps some of the photos could have been printed to a larger size - this is a very minor gripe ! Overall, still highly recommended . Buy this book before it goes out of print !
