An interesting book, the chart provided is a very useful tool for choosing the correct colour for the job. Inside the book are excellent sections on the four main Western Hemisphere combatants of WWII, although I would have liked to see a section on Italian and Japanese e colours, perhaps this will be in another volume. The description of the colours is very concise and helps understand the regulations for all the countries involved. The photographs are well chosen and show the different colours in use. The camouflage schemes are helpful, it would have been nice to have a few more though. All in all a very good book and one I will refer to constantly, recommended.

Colour chips are nice, and anything with Starmer and Zaloga as authors was a must for me, and they covered the British and US sections well - I do like Starmer's attention to canvas colours. Can't comment on the Russian material, but I found the German section a bit light on, with some (to me) confusion over usage of the two shades of Rotbraun plus red primer. I thought the earlier AK 'Late War German Colors' book was better, though comparing a whole book to to a section of another may be a bit unfair. The introduction about colour matching was interesting and I've ordered several of the AK Real Colors paints related to the book to see what they are like. A nagging thought is that I've valued the opinions of Starmer and Zaloga on the merits and mixes of various paint brands and hope their association with AK doesn't reduce this.
