I bought a previous version of these in 2012 and am still wearing them. The tread is wearing off the soles now but the uppers are still look good and remain watertight.. They have been so good that I bought a pair of Berghaus Fellmasters. I had no worries about the size because I could simply order the same as my old shoes and know they would be a perfect fit . Berghaus seem to produce quite a wide fitting, ideal for people like me with a high instep and short but broad feet. As expected, the new shoes fit perfectly and as comfortable as my old ones.

Have always had Berghaus boots but wanted a quality pair of quick to put on lightweight shoes and these fit the bill perfectly. Whilst they feel lightweight they are in fact well made and are extremely comfortable with a generous fitting and I would highly recommend them to anyone

I've always bought Clarks Vortex walking shoes but unhappy with their current styles I bought Berghaus Fellmasters instead. I had read in reviews about the top plastic lace eyelets breaking off but I foolishly thought a quality brand like Berghaus would have taken note and addressed the issue. On the 3rd day of wearing them a raised plastic eyelet popped off and then a couple of weeks later another one came off on the other shoe. Liking the shoes I chose not to return them but instead bought a £5 metal eyelet kit online and successfully fitted normal metal eyelets in the holes left by the rubbish plastic ones. Job done, but this poor quality issue on Berghaus shoes at this price is shameful. The uppers and inner sole quality is not a patch on simarly priced Clarks but the knobbly Vibram sole is superb for grip and the shoes are pleasingly light and comfortable.

This is the first pair of walking shoes that are not only comfortable but are completely waterproof. I go for hours dog walks each day in all weather and they have so far passed the test after 1 month of use. Unlike several other brands that always leaked.

Cheaply made and leaked the first time worn walking on wet grass. Complete waste of money, steer clear!

Comfortable walking shoe straight from box. Good grip provided by sole and good overall support for a shoe style. With the fine weather since purchase, not able to comment on waterproofing. I would rate the shoes overall as good and recommend them, but with a caveat. As mentioned in other reviews, the top metal lace cleat is a weak design. One of mine has come loose, but was able to repair with pliers. I would therefore only rate quality a average. This aspect is disappointing given that Berghaus generally iron out errors.
