“Although prompted for this review, I have not yet used the Snugpack Enhanced Patrol Poncho in rain, However, I have kitted up with my photography 30ℓ back pack and chest mounted camera then worn the poncho. I liked that it fully covered the backpack and chest mounted camera which will keep them dry. The poncho is far easier to use than having to individually protect the backpack and chest mounted camera with rain covers. As most users know, these are a faff to put on and not 100% effective. Another plus point, it still allows access to the chest mounted camera if needed. The poncho is lightweight (important to me) and quick to retrieve and don over walking/hiking jacket, backpack, and chest mounted camera. It also means that it is a good backup when wearing just a shower proof jacket. The open “skirt” and lose fitting around the upper arms means the poncho provides good ventilation that helps to prevent condensation - a problem with many waterproof jackets in the rain. As I have not used the poncho in the rain, I cannot say how waterproof the fabric is. The seams are stitched and taped. The fabric can be re-proofed using Nik Wax or similar products if it requires additional resistance to heavy rain. The poncho has a single pocket on the front just below the neck zip, with a fold over cover secured by hook and loop tape. My poncho is in black; I would have preferred it in Olive, but this colour was not available. Ordering from OutdoorGB online was straightforward and the price was very competitive. Delivery was a couple of days longer than usual from this supplier as it was sourced from the distributor. I have no complaints and, on my experience, recommend this supplier.”

“This poncho is amazing! Every waterproof I have owned has either leaked or made me sweat so much it may as well of leaked! But this poncho keeps me dry and sweat free. I was a bit warey of the claim of loose fitting poncho let's air circulate underneath but it's so true! The added features of slaves and large front pocket make it even better. Best waterproof I've ever owned.”

“Usual great quality from Snugpak. The single only criticism of this poncho I've come across is that it doesn't double as a small tarp so isn't multifunction BUT this poncho is for when you really need a poncho in my opinion. I have multi use ponchos that are great for summer and spring when you're in light kit but need cover from occasional showers and wind and this one will of course fulfill that role too but this is also definitely going to keep you dry when the rain and wind are at their worst! Great price from Outdoor GB and fast delivery too. Thanks. :-)”

“This is waterproof even in pretty bad weather, and has enabled my to have some good walks even in this very rainy autumn. Generous sizing. Nearly reaches the floor on me.”

“Fab waterproof. I’m 5f10 and it’s is lovely and long. It is deceptively very large as it’s designed to go over your backpack. It’s great for me plodding around in the rain with the dogs. When it gets colder I can fit my big winter coat on underneath no problems.”

“Does the job perfectly - keeps me and my rucksack dry - rolls up nice and compact - better ventilation than a jacket - pity they don’t do them in pretty colours as my wife wants one as well now”
