“I purchased the Harwell Oak coffee table whilst it was on offer (down from £551) I can only say that I’m glad I did not have to pay full price as I would be even more disappointed.
Whilst a sturdy table, the quality is exceptionally poor with large gaps (circa 5mm) between the bottom shelf and legs and worse still, it is clear that whilst cutting the bottom shelf the saw has been allowed to cut to deep leaving tooth marks in the top of the shelf that are clearly visible whenever you walk past the table. This hugely detracts from the overall aesthetic of the table and unfortunately is what leaves a lasting impression on you.
The listing stated on the website that it comes with both metal and wooden handles; the wooden handles were not supplied.
I spoke to Only Oak Furniture and explained that owing to building works overrunning we had not opened the table upon delivery as we wanted to keep it packaged thus keeping it clean and safe. When I contacted them and expressed my concern at the quality of manufacturing, I received a very to the point email stating that it was outside of the 14-day window to report issues and as such it could not be exchanged for a satisfactory item but that they would refund £25. So far this has not arrived.
Overall, I am incredibly disappointed that for the money spent how poor the quality of the item is and a total disinterest in customer service. I will not be purchasing from Only Oak Furniture again and advise other potential buyers to be very aware before parting with hard earned money.
