“The beech flooring was to ‘fit in’ with a lot of beech flooring laid in the house some twenty years ago. Being new, it’s naturally lighter but, unlike the ‘old’ flooring, there’s plenty of tone among the staves. As with all of these jobs, time spent in preparation is well worth it, making the job a lot easier. Believe me, it’s not as easy as seen on YouTube but I knew that anyway.”
