“The quality of the contents was high, though I didn't particularly enjoy the calligraphy theme and felt the linked videos were poorer than previous tutorials. Artful have however added the facility to swap out any box you aren't interested in, which I think is a great improvement I will be using in the future.”

“The design of the box is beautiful and they’re sturdy enough to keep and reuse in the studio. The pens are if a high quality with good nibs and a lovely range of colours. The Bristol pad was a fab surprise - very nice paper! You get the obligatory pencil and eraser which are standard. The artist’s book is excellent, with some interesting artists, artwork and techniques to explore. Images in the book are good quality and reflect an accurate example of the pen colours. Overall, I’m impressed with this box and think it is value for money.”

“I only gave the calligraphy box 3 stars. I have to admit it be slightly disappointed with it which is unusual as I am a subscriber and have been really inspired by the other boxes and the skills they have taught. I felt that this box was too similar to the inks box and didn’t actually teach any real calligraphy, as in lettering or sign writing. I have absolutely no problem with the materials: they were tip top quality and there was an excellent range. For me, it was the skills that were missing; calligraphy should concentrate on Lettering. I am still a subscriber and have no thoughts on stopping! Hopefully, this is a constructive review. Thank you.”

“I'm not particularly interested in calligraphy, but I nonetheless really enjoyed this box. The Tombow markers are great and I have used them for lots of non-calligraphic arty purposes!”

“This was the first box I ordered from artful, and I absolutely loved it ! The material is really good and the magazine offers so many useful tips and ideas, that you can really get started immediately with the box, even if you are not an expert at calligraphy. I did not really use the tombow pens for that though, I just love to draw with them, or use them to add some flashy colours to my sketches.”
