“l have loved the other boxes so much that i was a little dissapointed with this one, maybe its because its my least favourite medium? i think if i was going to use calligraphy i would be more likely to use a fountain pen and ink. the supplies are worth the price and i tried the tutorials but was left feeling that it wasnt my best art, but the point was to try things out of your comfort zone and i have loved the other boxes x”

Hi Gemma, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are very sorry for any disappointment caused by the calligraphy box received. With this edition we teamed up with Tombow to provide the products and tutorials to be able to create the full calligraphy experience. These markers are used for more modern calligraphy artwork rather than the traditional pen and ink. But we are glad to hear you gave it a go, even if it wasn't your best work. “I have dabbled with black ink calligraphy in the past, so I was pleased to have the chance to play with colours. My first effort to adapt ideas was used as a Thank You card. The materials were great but, as always, it was the magazine that was the highlight. Lots of inspiration!”

“I found this box to be the least cohesive and I wasn’t terribly excited about the materials either. That said, I have extensive experience with calligraphy so maybe it was just too basic for me.”

“I thought the contents were excellent value and enjoyed reading how to use the pens. My only suggestion would be the same for other boxes too. Can there be more ideas for those of us with little experience please? As an example - colouring in a fox is probably quite simple IF you can draw it in the first place!! I am 'drawing challenged'!”

“An excellent set of curated materials and it gave me the calligraphy bug. That is until the next Artful box came through the door. The problem i have with calligraphy is it requires practice, practice and more practice to get results. That doesn't mean you can't get results without all the practice but there is a visible difference between the outputs. Overall an excellent box and deserves 5 stars”
