“(I mistakenly wrote this review in response to a request to review Northern Runner as a business, so am repeating it here.) These are some of the most comfortable boots I have had. Having tested them in wet conditions and on steep hills with slippery grass and stones, I have found them to be light and well-cushioned with good traction. The natural foot shape is excellent, and they hold well in the heel and around the foot. My feet did get wet during a day of constant rain, but this could have been the result of overtrousers channelling the water into the top of the boot. The only niggle is the lacing, which is unnecessarily complicated, making it difficult to get them secure enough in the front. Even so, I recommend these and might even get a second pair.”
“Sad to say these Tailventure 2 Women's waterproof Hiking Boots are not fit for purpose. They have a stitched gusset under the lacing area, apparently to prevent water and debris from getting into the boot. The gusset is so tightly stitched you can not get your foot inside the boot even if you remove the laces. When I did manage to get my foot into the boot, my socks were pulled so tightly, my toes were trapped and could not move. They were only trainer socks! I did not want to leave the socks off as I was concerned about getting sore feet. Very disappointed with these for all their applied technology, they were useless. This is no reflection on Northern Runner, they were very understanding and refunded my money as soon as I returned these boots to them.”
