“I’ve actually lost count of the pairs of Lone Peak’s I’ve had. They are amazing for anyone with very wide feet. Zero drop suits my forefoot strike perfectly as well. Second pair of identical shoes!”
“These size up very large. I wear 9.5UK in most brands but these in size 9 were still *much* too large - both in terms of length and width. Very strange. For reference, I have wide feet and usually struggle to find shoes wide enough.”
“I bought a size 10 in these, which was half a size down from my usual 10.5, I was hoping they would be as wide as the Torin wide that came out recently but they are narrower The are just a bit wider in the toe box than an old pair of LP3.0 I have.
I have been wearing the LP5 wide for 3 weeks now and my feet have taken to them and they are comfortable but they would be more more relaxed if they had done a proper Wide.”
“It is not often I am disappointed in an Altra shoe but as I needed something to tide me over until the next Olympus model is released, I thought I would go for the Lone Peak 5s. My first ever pair of Altras were Lone Peak 2 and I was then awakened to the joys of footshape and the wide toe box that suited my big feet + neuromas. This newest LP model are big, plenty wide enough but just too long. This inconsistency between iterations of the same models means I may struggle to purchase them with confidence again. Usually manufacturers build from the same last, and they still may do so, but my experience does not support this. As a result they feel a little sloppy to run in so will remain a walking shoe for its duration. On the plus side it feels very well made, the mid sole is a joy to step on, just shame about the sizing. In hindsight I should have just bought another pair of Olympus 4s. Northern Runner are the one of the best running shops around and I will continue to read their reviews, contact them for advice and buy my trainers and running gear from them.”
