“I have wide feet that have been scrunched into trainers over many years. These trainers are like a breath of fresh air. They fit my toes. I can run without sore feet...
Other than actually being foot shaped, they have good grip, breathable fabric and appropriate cushioning. Zero drop means that I don't catch my heel as I put my feet down, even when tired. Top quality trainers but they also work for me and my feet.”
“Good length, miles too wide but ok with 5 toe base layer socks with a mid thickness normal sock on top of course.
Definitely wouldn't buy a WIDE again as normal width is plenty wide enough.
Bought another pair of Altra within a week but the Escalante model this time - much better for wearing all day in clinic, and I'll leave the Torin for running.
Altra are my new favourite footwear now.”
“I hike the Camino de Santiago for several weeks at a time in normal non Pandemic years, I was looking to to buy the wide LP5 but I thought I would give these a go. My 1st impressions out of the box that it was a little bit wider than both my Olympus 2.5 and 3.5 in the toe box area, which I matched up together and quite a bit wider than my LP3. They are light in comparison to the above, which is ideal and I like them not just for the width but the volume area as well. Two minuses, one the front area of the sole has become slightly lose from several day hikes I have done, which I have seen mentioned in other reviews as well, the tongue is also long and sharp, you can notice it catching the front of your ankle joint if your socks do not cover it.
So far I am pleased with them, but they need some serious punishment before I know what they will be really like. As I am not runner I can't really comment on the bounce but on my hikes I don't notice stones through them.”
