I really like the lacing on these shoes which means I can get a tight fit on my shallow instep yet still have a generous for my toes. I had the previous version of these shoes and have to say this version is much better both in cushioning and in keeping the water out when running on wet grass. In running through shallow water (the field near us was flooded on my first try out in these shoes) the grip was firm and the drying out time later was reasonably quick. The shoe weight is also good as I take them as a second pair of shoes when backpacking. I haven't found a negative yet although they are a little more expensive than some.

Shoes arrived well packaged. Not used outdoors yet, but the fit looks good. A nice hybrid between hiking shoes and trail runners.

Seems sturdy and very well made, surprisingly light too. Lovely grippy sole with space for mud clearance. Not quite wide enough for my toes sadly.

These shoes sit firmly at both ends of the quality spectrum. There are things I love and things I hate. I'll list these below. But to summarise, they're very nice, really comfortable, but far over-priced. Pro's. Very comfortable sole Insanely good grip in the wet Great underfoot cushioning Good underfoot rock protection Very breathable Fast drying Quite good toe, heal and side protection Lovely wide toe box Very lightweight Con's Very very expensive The fabric on top isn't durable The foot can often slide sideways when walking along uneven paths The gaiters unclip themselves quite often Laces are low quality and come undone Kinda ugly and boring colour scheme The side to side slop is quite significant Very very expensive Walking up or down hill they're great, really great, but walk along a hill and you'll find yourself slipping side ways inside the shoe. I find myself positioning my stance to counteract this and it slows me down and wastes energy. After a while this friction can cause hot spots. I haven't got any blisters with them, but I can feel my sole get warm sometimes. Overall I do like this and although not perfect they're my favorite shoe. I doubt I'll buy again though because they are quite costly. I'll probably buy one of Topo Athletic'cheaper models

So, new very little of this brand. But was keen to find a trail shoe, appropriate for long distances, with ‘room’ and a little drop. As always the service from Northern Runner was swift and superb and, more importantly, the shoes have not disappointed. I After only a couple of shorter runs, I used them for a 50k and my feet, whilst a little tired, were in great shape at the finish. Definitely going to invest in a second pair! Thank you Topos and thank you Northern Runner.
