Absolutely love this shoe. I can't imagine running in my old style shoes ever again. I am pain free after my run which is amazing!.Would definitely recommend. And the delivery from Northern Runner was really speedy too.

Pre long term use review: Oh my, how my feet love these, so much room across the widest point of my feet. Almost don’t know I’m wearing them. Taking a gamble as a heel striker, so spending time gently adjusting. No issues so far. Purchased for UK hiking, so will review post hike re: comfort and drying time. I understand that they may not be as durable as other brands, but the toe width has totally won me over.

I love my LP5s. I bought these to replace my well worn Altra Lone Peak 4.5s (UK size 5) which I bought as a new runner last year. I have arthritis in my big toe and the lovely toe box means there is no pressure on my foot at all and I am able to cinch the laces around my mid foot so that the LPs are a great fit for me. I already wear zero drop, and that was a big decider in buying this brand, I'll never go back to 'regular' shoes now. The LP5 feels similar in fit to me as the LP4.5, I had read that some say the toe box and length feel bigger, but I didn't notice that after trying a half size down as well as my regular UK5, I bought the larger size as my foot felt more relaxed in the shoe. The new Altra EGO™midsole is more forgiving than the LP4.5 which is a great upgrade and the grip is very good, I run across fields with plenty of wet mud, grass and some slightly rocky paths and always feel confident. In fact the grip is the best I've ever had in a walking or running shoe for all conditions even the clarty mud I have on my route. You can get wet feet, I run through some long grass and the frost/dew seeps in through the top of the shoe, but it is never an issue, so I guess the shoe does its job and drys out well. These are a great fit for me, wearing zero drop wide toe box shoes has made a difference to my foot comfort and strength in spite of being an older, less than fit runner! My own opinion is that these shoes encourage my body to run naturally (for me) so not placing undue strain on joints and muscles.
