I started to run seriously in 2017, and at the same time I saw a foot specialist in the NHS as I'd always found that my toes felt cramped and painful. Upshot was I needed size 12 (not 11) trainers and a 2E width fitting, possibly with a little pronation support. First pair of trainers I had that felt really comfy and got me through first year of running incl 2 x 10k and Great North Run were Mizuno, and they were great. Since then, until these, I have never found another pair of 2E that really were as wide as I needed, including later models from Mizuno, nor as comfy underfoot. These are even better than the Mizuno's and having bought a second pair hopefully will see me through the next 12 months and the 2022 Great North Run! Also, superb service from Northern-Runner, as always. Best running gear shop I've used by far, and I live 110 miles away!

Hard to fault this shoe.Very cushioned great if you have knee issues.Only criticism is cushion decreases rapidly after 200 miles.

Great shoes. Really good cushioning, got “hot balls” after a couple of miles on my first outing, but slacked the laces of after that and they were fine. Was concerned about transitioning from my current shoes, Mizuno’s Waverider 24, with 12mm heal drop to these with a 5mm heel drop, but had no issues, which was a surprise given some of the apocryphal tales o have heard on line. Really speedy delivery as well, many thanks.

A responsive, yet cushioned shoe, with excellent breathability and comfort levels. I wear these for shorter, faster efforts. My only issue is that I've found the foot shape to be a slightly smaller fit than other Hokas of the same size (UK 10) and fit (2E Wide). It's ok for shorter distances, but I don't think I would wear these for a half or full marathon distance.

Bought the wide fitting but still far too narrow. Would try the extra wide perhaps but I think my definition of wide is very different to Hoka's!

Seem well-made and going a half size up was right for me in this shoe. You never know, I have worn 3 pairs of NB 1080's 2E in 9 and then ordered a different model in 9 and 2e and what turned up was closer to an 8! The Hoka's take a bit of getting used to, they are higher than all of runners I have used and were a little hard on the forefront for the first 10k. They have bedded in and the times are good, distance comfortable, but I don't feel as confident in their cornering ability, I feel you could turn and ankle in these if you push too hard. That is probably to be expected from the higher centre of gravity. Comfortable and glad I went for a change. I like them better than the OC's I tried but for the next pair would probably go back to try the NB 1080, even though the current 1080 style is a bit gopping IMO!

Looked great, and cushioning to weight and sole look ideal for an everyday shoe, but super uncomfortable on width, particularly around the toes, even though I ordered the extra wide option
