“My second pair of Altra shoes. Their zero drop design has transformed my walking and these waterproof boots are great for Yorkshire weather.
If you suffer from back or foot problems I recommend you give them a try.”
“I bought these as I was so pleased with my Lone Peak running shoes. It was a bit of a struggle to get them on initially, but once I’d managed to do so, I was not disappointed! There is plenty of room for my toes and the boots are very comfortable. I have now walked about 50km in them and find them light and waterproof, even in very wet conditions.
I don’t think I would use them for rugged mountain terrain, as they don’t offer the same ankle support and edging as my Meindls, but for hiking in the hills and on good paths they will be ideal.”
“Really comfortable - but a devils job to get them on as the back of the boot collapses even whilst pulling on ‘pull on loop’- can take me 3 minutes plus. It is not good struggling with back pain. They are not the most attractive of items - but arthritic feet! I dread the struggle of battling them when I go out so only worn them 4 times. I will have to buy something else. Expensive lesson”
“I'm a huge fan of ALTRA trainers, and was delighted when I saw that they did hiking boots too. These are as comfortable as their trainers, incredibly light and just a delight to walk in. Given that they have a zero heel, and removable insoles, I find they are great for my orthotics too. So glad I found them!”
