Jackal Mens Cushioned Mountain/Ultramarathon Running Shoes Black/Yellow Reviews

4.5 Rating 6 Reviews
These are my second pair of Jackals. The shoes are well cushioned and protective, with good grip. They also seem to last quite well (400+ miles after which the studs are getting worn and the cushioning wearing out). The only issue is the stiff Achilles support which digs in with my heel shape. I've softened this heel support on my shoes by hammering etc and this helps. The pros outweigh the cons so all in all a good shoe.

I've previously worn inov-8 trail shoes for many years but decided on a change of brand and wasn't disappointed with the La Sportive Jackals. Very cushioned and supportive too. Love the lacing system which appears to be designed to accommodate swelling feet after running Many miles during an ultra marathon. Only used on hard packed trails so far so unable to judge how well they cope on muddy trails. Sized up half shoe size as they do come in on the smaller fit. Very comfortable straight out the box with no pressure points including the tongue area. Definitely built for long distance. I Intend to purchase another pair for my attempt at The 268 mile Montane Spine race in January next year. Recommended.

These look and feel great. They are light and and the quality is really good. I'm a 10.5 or 11 in most shoes so I got these in an 11. The fit feels really good but after a few miles they start to rub at the back. I need to use them a bit more to form a better opinion but I'm concerned that these aren't going to be suitable for the ultras I was planning to use them on.

Cushioning, tread, stability all great. But things I wasn’t expecting quite warm, not as breathable as I thought they would be, material around the heal doesn’t dry very quickly and generally poor drainage.

A good alternative to my previous Hoka Mafate Evo's. I like they're a little wider in the toe box. Very comfortable. Not great in the mud but that's not what they're intended for.
