“It's difficult to assess a shoe while jumping around your bedroom like you're on the trails until you're on the trails. I went for the Speedgoat after wear Hoka Bondi just for general everyday shoes for the cushioning, and deciding that the Speedgoat weren't too maximalist and had received positive reviews for longer distances. Unfortunately within a couple miles on my usual rocky trail, I went over on my ankle due to not being used to the height. I've since worn them more and got used to this, however I am worried about technical trails in them. For longer distance they're proving comfortable (despite an initial under toe blister) and more roomy than what I'm used to in Speedcross. It's just a shame that there's no real way for us to test out shoes before we drop a load of money on a pair, potentially wasting them.
As for The Northern Runner - great selection and price, comparable. Great quick service and packaging was standard but no extra frills which was great to see.”
