“I have worn VJ MAXX for a few years now. They are very versatile and I wear them on all surfaces - hard packed trail, loose trail, mud, ice, beach, road. Excellent grip. Robust outer. The soles on mine last for about 700 miles of mixed terrain before they need replacing, and I am quite heavy on my feet. The uppers never seem to fail and take all kinds of abuse. They are marketed as a firmer feel, but I find them suitably cushioned.”

Ladies fit is quite narrow so if you have a wide foot I would go for the Unisex.
Very comfortable and great grip on the mud / wet rock and loose stones (all of which have been tested on the fells in the Northern Lakes) My feet did not feel any of the terrain and the shoes gave me great confidence downhill running - I bought them for the Montane 50 route which I am running soon which they will be perfect for.”
