These are great shoes and I'll now buy a second pair to stash away in case the design changes. They are supremely comfortable with a great tread and loads of grip on trails. I had a pair of Lone Peak 3.5's that I trekked around New Zealand, ran the 120 mile Trans Rocky Race in Colorado and pounded miles of UK trails in. They were fantastic. Unfortunately the design then changed and I have rarely used my last Lone Peaks. I think the Timp's are even better than my trusty old 3.5's !!

Great, super comfy shoes for longer runs on compact dryer trails. Fit is true to size with a super roomy toe box. But for slippy uk winter and oc races I prefer my Mt King 1.5.

Brilliant shoes, i suffer with bunions on both feet which causes pain on runs so decide to buy a pair of alter superior shoe last year which worked a treat so these are my second pair so far with more cushioning! Great shoes

Great true to size fit straight out the box. Having previously run in the Altra Superiors better much better cushioning for those longer runs. Keen to seen how they hold up as disappointed with the Superiors durability however so far so good....

The Altra Timp 1.5 is a good, cushioned Trail shoe. Decent sized lugs and a good fit, though not quite as good as the Superior 4.0. There seems to be less ‘height’ in the toe box than in the Superior 4.0, meaning a bit of rubbing on the top of my second toes. That’s the only issue, and why it doesn’t get 5 stars.

Everyone has different feet. My feet are fat, wide at the widest point, high arched/instep and with pain (especially because of progressing bunion development). I'm male and in my mid fifties. I use some cheap gel toe separation orthotics as an attempt at bunion correction. I like running - especially on trails. But these days I do a lot of walking while commuting in London. I also jog parts of my commute. These shoes were recommended by the excellent adviser at Northern Runner. I got them by mail. The sizing was suggested by them - based on my description of my usual sizes in other brands of shoe. They fit perfectly. They are wide enough for my foot and the length they suggested is perfect. I really like these shoes and I wear them every day now. There was no difficulty adjusting to the neutral-drop design. The cushioning is good. Some of my frequent lower-back pain has diminished. These are my first pair of Altra shoes. I used to always go for Brooks Adrenaline. These are more comfortable for me. I will continue to use Altra shoes.
