Superior 2.0 Silver/Purple Womens Reviews

3.8 Rating 4 Reviews
These shoes are very light weight and the main 'body'/material of the shoe feels quite flimsy and flexible. My trail socks are bright green and I am able to see them through the material next to the laces. I have only had four runs in these to date and I am not yet sure if they are suitable for me because it's as though I can feel every bump and stone on the trails. There is very little heel rise and so they would suit a runner who prefers almost a flat sole. I was recently advised to find a trail shoes with a larger toe box which is why I purchased these shoes ( I have arthritis in my left foot, 2nd metatarsal) so I require good cushioning and stability - still not sure at present if these shoes are suitable for my needs.

Thanks for your feedback on this shoe. We urge anyone unsure which shoe would be perfect for them to get in touch. The Superior is very light, hence a lightweight mesh and is really designed for runners already nimble on their feet, used to a forefoot landing and lower heel to forefoot drop. Altra is a 100% Zero Drop (their trademark) brand, to promote the huge benefits to posture and form. We'd be happy to guide you to a more suitable shoe if you get in touch. Northern Runner Team

I ordered these specifically for the wider and roomier toe box and I am so pleased that I have. I am training for my first marathon on the South Downs and my toes are so much happier with the extra space. No pain or tenderness and happy toe nails. Other than this, the shoes are not as cushioned as my previous trail shoes (but I am aware that these are the lightweight version of all the Altra trail shoes). I have been doing 15+ miles in them weekly and no problems. My calves are slowly getting used to the zero drop element. I will be buying Altra again.

Unfortunately, I found them narrower than my lone peak and decided to send them back. I would have loved them, they were lighter and softer, but somehow felt really tight on my wide feet.
