“saw these on the NR website after owning the more recent 3 series and was happily surprised there's barely any difference to the newer version. It's a great shoe, that's NR for the advice”
“Perfect for my wide feet ! I also appreciate the minimum padding with the zero drop, I am used to run barefoot style but can't cope very well anymore on long runs if there is no padding ...I don't know what the green "tongue " at the back of the heel is about and was worried that it would make me heel strike but it doesn't. I have noticed that the newer models come without, thank god!”
“Really pleased with them. The fit is great. I'm normally a size 11 and got a size 11.5 and they fit well. Great grip and seem to feel faster! Breaking them in slowly because I'm not used to zero drop and this is going ok. Just a bit frustrating because I want tot run further in them.”
“Very nice shoes give you A very quick pace and well made. I normally wear a 8.5uk but got the 9.5uk as I wanted to let my toes wiggle. Very impressed and have thought AltraTorin too for road running”
“Amazing fit, amazing grip, zero drop, perfect amount of cushion - all round fantastic shoe. If like me you tried the Superior 3.0 only to find it too narrow, get your feet into a pair of these whilst you still can!”
“I was impressed by these when I saw my friend wearing them (he does lots of ultras). The wide toe box is incredibly comfortable - they were immediately very comfy and it has taken me no time at all to get used to them. My friends are very envious of the toe protection as well. Be warned - you will not want to go back to any of your other running shoes after wearing these!”
“Only 4 stars at the moment, purely on the basis that I haven't had time to run them in through enough miles yet. Apart from that though, these are amazing shoes.
I have wide ol duck feet but my toes still have heaps of room in the toebox. I normally wear a size 10.5 (UK), but went up to an 11 following advice through many other reviews, as well as suggestion on the Altra website.
The grip on these is amazing. I have worn them on compact trail, thick cloggy mud, and wild growing fields with no specific path. Every step taken has been made with complete comfort and appreciation for how well they bite into the ground.
I have also had to cover a few miles on tarmac, and they cope just fine there too, but I don't intend to continue with that process purely due to the fact that I don't want to wear the grip down too much.
I think the only negative I can find so far is the price, BUT, for the comfort, grip etc... I have been happy to have paid the additional £40 compared to other leading brands/online stores that I have used in the past.
So far these shoes are truly living up to the reputation that I have heard about through listening to multiple ultra running podcasts and I am ridiculously happy with them.”
