Great shoe. Makes you wonder why all shoes aren't foot shape. Seems so obvious after you try this brand.

nice fit, light weight, just enough cushioning.

Unfortunately the Altra Loan Peak 2.5 isn't meant for trail on the wet at all.. and running a trail without getting wet at least a little bit is very difficult. The shoe is slippery, has a poor grip when climbing and when it gets wet, the inner sole slept under the foot. I used it for 2 hours and I'm not sure that I will ever use it again. Very disappointed with this shoe I must say given the reputation of the brand. I believe that the shoe is meant for running on dry grounds, dusty roads but not more that that. Sorry to be candid but when you buy a pair of shoes at that price and it doesn't do the job, its quite annoying. The inner sole issue is simply unacceptable, putting aside the poor grip aspect of it. If I need to find positive sides, I would say its comfortable, good cushion but that's sincerely all I can say.

I bought the Altra Lone Peak 2.0 from Northern Runner after reading/watching a lot of reviews. I had been running in low-zero drop shies for a while and wanted to try the roomy toe box and cushioning that they offer. I was not disappointed. I bought them late Monday night with next day delivery and received them mid day Thursday which was excellent service (as always) from Northern Runner. I walked around the house at first to check them out. They felt big at first due to the toe box but I quickly got used to this. The build quality is excellent, however having now put only 45miles in them the padded lining at the ankle is lose where is stops moving along your foot. I will keep an eye on this, apart from that they are everything I had hoped for. In fact I was so excited and confident with them I did what everyone says not to do and ran a trail marathon race the next day!!! No problems at all and I feel that says it all about the comfort! I have done several miles since and apart from the loose lining the shoes are performing perfectly. I look forward to trying more from the Altra range and Northern Runner is my go to for all my running needs.

Perfect for wider feet. The wide toe box allows the foot to spread naturally and the zero drop lets the feet glide over the surface. Excellent quality, soft and very light on the foot, but rugged enough for the toughest trails.
