“Great light shoes, with non-slippy laces. Plenty of toe-room in the wide toe-box. Very comfortable if you like a low-rise shoe. Very light weight. Also have useful reflective patches that are hard to see on the photos.”
“This is the first change to my shoe make and model in 10 years of running and I have totally fallen in love with this shoe. It feels like it was made personally for me. I have a wide foot, small stride, high cadence and land on my forefoot and this shoe works perfectly. There is more cushioning than I am used to but I was getting some pain in the balls of my feet during runs longer than 15 miles (hence the shoe change) which I no longer get. Before buying this shoe I tried the more cushioned altras and although I understand the feeling of running on air I didn't like how high the shoe was and I felt like I was running on a mattress which took away some of the pleasure of feeling the trails. This is the perfect level of cushioning for me. Highly recommend this shoe and the service from Northern Runner (my first order). I will be back.”
“I bought these on a friend's recommendation after recovering from a plantar fascia tear. Great fit, wide toe box, more support for my arch while playing tennis and a thicker zero drop sole. Delivery was prompt too. I definitely plan to buy these again when the first pair wears out.”
“Very comfortable shoe and exactly what I was looking for. One slight problem I would point out is the sizing; I am a 6.5 and had to size up to a 7, and even still I can feel the toe box pressing down on my big toe when i walk in them because of a reinforced patch of plastic over it. However, this pressure disappears when I start running (probably because my weight forces the footbed down) and hopefully it will stop the toe wearing through like on all my other running shoes!”
“It's very early days with my Altra The One Squared. At this stage I can only say that they are very light and comfortable due to the very wide toe box. The transition hasn't taken me as much as suggested (I did a first 7km run on a Sunday, followed by a 10 km on a Wednesday straight on to a 20km the following Sunday) and I had no pain in calves at all. The first hundred yards of every run I do feel how my landing is different, although this is not in a bad way, it's just different. As I've said, early days for me so I can't really comment on performance but comfort wise it's thumbs up from me.”
