“These are great shoes- once you get your calves used to the zero drop! The wide foot base prevents all that crunching toe stuff when going down hills, grip is fabulous ( I have done mud, sand, chalk and clay) and the colour design isn’t half bad either!”
“I switched to Altra shoes as I was experiencing big problems with bunions as I increased my distances in training for a multi-day event. It took me a few runs to adjust to the zero drop (my calf muscles were very sore for a few days!) but then it all settled down. In terms of my bunions and general issues like sore toes, they have been a lifesaver. The wide toe box is so great for feet like mine. Two minor negatives - I think the grip is better in other trail shoes (I also have a pair of Saucony Peregrines which I love, but the toe box in the Altras is better). And secondly, I think Altras are not the world's most attractive running shoes! They do the job and let's face it when they're covered in mud all trail shoes look the same, but a bit more thought into making them look better would be appreciated!”
“Recently discovered the altra shoe, so comfortable at like wearing a pair of comfy slippers whilst running and the aches and pains after long runs have gone!! Can’t wait to try these trail shoes out in the forest!!”
“Just what i was looking for.... A trail show with a decent tread, not too buggy but grips really well. Most importantly the wide toe box is very comfortable and copes with my emerging bunion! I did have to order a size up from my usual fit.”
“I really like the space in the toe box, finally I can spread my wide feet out. They could be a bit softer and more cushioned though, quite stiff shoe. Still getting used to the zero drop atm.”
