This innovative bird travel carrier is a great way for you and your bird to get out and about. Your bird may prefer to see their surroundings, in which case you can simply roll up the curtains and clip out of the way, leaving the stainless steel mesh uncovered. If your bird feels more secure in an enclosed environment just roll the curtains down and keep in place using the Velcro fasteners.
Inside are two holders for the two metal cups (supplied). You can use these to provide your bird with food and water, or perhaps some foot toys to help keep them entertained whilst you travel.
A wooden perch is also supplied which you can attach securely to the metal ring holes at the side of the carrier. There are a number of holes at different heights so you can fix your bird's perch at a height to suit them
The detachable straps are fully adjustable so your Parrot Backpack Carrier can be worn comfortably as a backpack or on your front. A detachable shoulder strap is also provided - see which you find most comfortable.
Your Parrot Backpack Carrier can be fully opened out so you can wash it when necessary (hand wash only) and has a removable bottom panel to make daily cleaning easy.
When not in use it is suggested to fold the carrier flat. It folds flat for easy storage and assembles in seconds. Check the carrier regularly and watch the bird to prevent the carrier being damaged.
Please note - although all possible steps have been taken to minimise chewing opportunities some birds will find a way to chew anything and everything!
However, you know your bird best and with some planning you and your bird can soon be enjoying exploring the world together.

My grey went in like a flash to the backpack, seemed to really enjoy it.Only backdraw is that it lacks a mesh on floor, but it took me 15 minutes to fix that so now it has a mesh floor. So now it will be no problem if it jumps down on the floor, cause it will not walk around in its own feces. This is something that really should be in the backpack from the beginning !!!

the straps that clip on at rear have a large and a small clip. it should be two small clips. I have been asked for pics which I have done and each time they ask for something else. so I am stuck with a travel cage I cannot use. it is proving too hard and stressful . one should buy a product and end of, nit buy and find it faulty and then be given the hardest time. no more, im done. waste of 150 .

I am not a habitual review writer however having bought one of these backpacks 18 months ago and now about to buy another - the reason will become clear - it has been such a great purchase that I want to share some feedback.I have two Quakers and I initially bought this carrier as I was travelling to Europe and wanted to have something that was flexible, comfortable for the birds and not too heavy to carry around. It is easy to put together - there is not much assembly required apart from the screwing in the perch which has an adjustable position - there is a choice of three heights and velcro-ing the feeder holders. I travelled on a ferry and with my birds being super quiet and very well-behaved and the bag being shaped a lot like a ski boot bag, they snuck in unnoticed. When I am in the car, the bag sits on the front seat, seat-belted in and they either sleep or just sit and chatter as I am driving. I have used the backpack for trips to the vet, to go away for weekends and what is great about it is that it acts very well as a temporary cage as well as a transporter. Now on my second European trip and it has worked just as well. I brought a cage for assembly but they are more than happy to be on their tree-perch during the day and then they actually fly to the backpack when it is bed time and during the day, they are more often than not, found sitting on it and attempting - completely unsuccessfully - to dismantle the strap clips. This gives them hours of fun.Now for some requested improvements please: 1. Can the fabric of the bag be of a more easy to clean fabric? Like a smooth or shiny plasticised canvas? The current fabric is super-difficult to clean and when wet takes a very long time to dry. 2. The wire mesh at the front is very strong and very well made. However, given enough time and focus, my two, realizing that they cannot bit holes in it, have discovered that if they pleat it neatly, in rows, with their beaks, the can then bit through the ridge

I wanted to be able to take my pineapple conure out exploring with me and this carrier is the perfect way to do so! It is very well made and has plenty of room. The 2 dishes are brilliant for keeping food and water so I dont need to worry whilst out and about. I did have a dish and holder missing when I received it but Northern Parrots sent it out to me no problem! If I could add just one thing to this carrier it would be an internal hook of some sort so I could add in a hanging toy for a bit of extra entertainment for my bird. Other than that I absolutely love it!

i think it is best way to transport parrots, now i travel with my two African grey parrots even with public transport. this carier is light weight and quite small, so its easy to go insite bus and dont kill another people. But one of my parrot likes chew front panell. i sold this using one of the fether plucking tool, witch is not tasty for parrots.

This is brilliant. Such a lot of money and I was worried about spending so much and whether it would be worth it but I think that it was. It is incredibly well made, quite bulky though, especially when you have all the side covers rolled up. It is also quite hard to get a not so cooperative bird in it as it takes time to do the two zips up meaning the bird can get out the other side while you are doing the other. My galah took to it straight away, he tends to sit on the bottom because I think that the perch is a little thin for him to grip onto when it is moving. I take him on dog walks and he loves to look out, you do get a few funny looks though! Also have to be careful as it is so big that its easy to misjudge things and hit something. It is also light and comfy to wear and is not too hot either. I am pleased with it despite the money!

Our thirty-one-year old Orange Winged Amazon, Rambo, so-named because he originated from a pet shop in Ramsbottom, Lancashire, absolutely adores this backpack carrier. He now becomes so excited when he sees it, that he cannot get in there fast enough. The only suggestion I would make regarding an improvement to the specification would be to include a removable base that would allow a parrot to manoeuvre easily across the floor. As it happened, we managed to locate an appropriate base contained within a fabric small dog pod, which proved to be just the right size. This makes it easier for him to walk along the base and play with his various toys, especially when the carrier is at rest, on a picnic table, for instance. It also facilitates stability when climbing pack onto the perch. The base we are using is also readily removable for regular cleaning.Apart from this, the backpack carrier is perfect in every way, being extremely lightweight and portable and Rambo is able to retain a secure position on the perch, whilst watching the world go by. The only thing that we regret is having to wait over thirty years before Rambo has been able to experience some of the shorter country walks with us using a carrier such as this. Thank you, Northern Parrots, for making us aware of this carrier via your documentation and. great customer service, as always.

bought this for my baby Grey and he already loves it. half price of shipping one from America but not sure how they compare quality wise as only ever seen that one briefly. This certainly does the job. I know its common sense but just be careful when closing zips as one opened up when first I set up, hasn't done it since so probably my fault. the pack gives plenty of room for an African grey to move around and the bird has good vision through the mesh on the three panels. only downside, a water bottle would be a better idea rather than a bowl other than that its great
