Calcivet is a high-quality liquid calcium supplement for birds with added Vitamin D3. Especially vital during breeding, and should be given weekly to all birds. African Greys have a particular requirement for this mineral.
Add Calcivet to drinking water or onto moist/soft foods, it easily absorbs into bones, nerves and muscles where needed. Without enough calcium a Parrot can develop problems with egg laying, slow moults, feather plucking, nervousness and respiratory problems.
Calcium is involved in brain and nerve function and can improve behavioural problems such as feather plucking and chewing.

“I am just about to re-order this supplement for Jacko. It is easy to add to his water and it may be a coincidence but since it has been included in his daily diet, he now sinks right down on his perch when resting in the day and appears to sleep much more deeply than before. Does anyone have an explanation?”

“Unlike many products, my parrots did not turn up their beaks when this was added to their drinking water. At the level of dosage, it also proves to be very good value for money.A must now that birds are laying, but good for general maintenance of health too.”

“A must have product , I have breeding cockatiels and budgies.calcium is extremely important for egg laying hens ,I would not be with out calcivet, i give calcivet to my birds 5 times a week when breeding , then twice a week when not breeding , it can be added to drinking water or added to soft food, I have been bird breeding for a number of years calcivet really is a must have product to help prevent calcium deficiency which can lead to muscle weakness ,or egg bound birdDont give more than 5 times a week”

“Although I'm sure the calcium supplement does 'what it says on the tin', I found the instructions on the side of the bottle quite confusing and difficult to work out the correct dosage.”

“I came across Northern Parrots after a recommendation from a local pet store called General Dogsbody in my home town, Hereford. I was specifically in need of calcivet to treat one of my call ducks, which showed signs of being egg bound. I ordered 100ml of calcivet liquid calcium and by the following afternoon it had been delivered to my door.Northern Parrots had delivered a quality product, quickly and for a reasonable price. Following the administration of this medicine and separation of the duck from the rest of the flock i am pleased to say after no more than a week the duck seemed to be back to normal and it had layed its first egg!The bottle contained excellent instructions and has an extremely good use by date.I have no criticisms after the use of this product, however an addition to this product could be a measurement tool. I for example used a 5ml medicine spoon to ensure i had the correct dosage.Following the excellent products, service and delivery of items, I have already recommended Northern Parrots to a friend!!”
