Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
High Potency is recommended for…
Birds being converted from a seed-based diet. Birds being converted from any other diet. Feed for a period of at least 6 months before transitioning to Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
African Greys, Large Macaws as a year-round diet, due to their increased nutritional requirements.
Birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, very active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from illness, affected by liver or kidney disease.
Birds that are weaning – feed for at least 6-9 months.
Birds that are breeding – Ideally feed for 2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned, or for at least 6 months before resuming Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

Have fed Harrison HPC to my African Grey and hand reared Cockatiels for a number of years. Never had a problem. Far less mess than seeds - no husks. Birds select favourite seeds and discard the ones they are not keen on, this means they can miss out on vital minerals and vitamins which are contained in the discarded seeds. With HPC they get it all. Although it is more expensive than seed it is worth it, knowing they have a complete food which they like.

I have just realised that there is no longer any Cacium in the ingredients- There is now a sticker with a different formulation so I will get some Calcium suppliment as Harrisons no longer contains Calcium athough there may be a little bit in the other ingredients. Evidently Norherm Parrots are way out of date on this

Thanks for making us aware of this, however the labelling has changed but the formulation hasn’t – it still contains calcium and is still complete

I hand reared and then subsequently introduced my African Grey to many different dry foods as well as a wide variety of fresh items. She will try anything I put in front of her, however once she has, in the case of dried food only, she rejects them in favour of Harrisons HPC. This extends to brands she was willing to eat before she discovered HBF. It really comes across like she can tell it is better quality and better for her. The pricing is extortionate for what it really is though, when you consider its main ingredients are sunflower seeds, Barley, Soy beans and peanuts, albeit organic.Harrisons are taking advantage of low standards. They know that by focussing on quality, they can charge excessively high prices because people will find a way to pay for the best for their pets. If they charged a little less, they could probably corner the market, so potentially a little short sighted on their part. When you consider you can buy a good quality 10KG meat pack online for around 100 pounds or 25lb for around 130 Dollars and we are being asked to pay 139 for the same weight of ground up seeds and nuts, it puts things into perspective.I wont stop buying it while its within my means, but I do feel like Im being fleeced every time I do.On another note, if you consider buying the larger 25lb pack, is is not resealable to keep it fresh like the 5lb packs. Seems a bit of an oversight considering its likely to be even more important to keep it fresh for longer.

Our African Grey loves this food. The only problem we have is that she throws the pellets at our German Shepherd. Now he loves them too
