Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
High Potency is recommended for…
Birds being converted from a seed-based diet. Birds being converted from any other diet. Feed for a period of at least 6 months before transitioning to Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
African Greys, Large Macaws as a year-round diet, due to their increased nutritional requirements.
Birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, very active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from illness, affected by liver or kidney disease.
Birds that are weaning – feed for at least 6-9 months.
Birds that are breeding – Ideally feed for 2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned, or for at least 6 months before resuming Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

Two avian vets had recommended Harrisons for YC amazon. After 25 years on mixed seeds and showing signs of poor health it was a challenge to convert our bird. Things that helped: squeeze fresh orange over or add pomegranate seeds and juice. Other times I microwave some frozen peas and add the peas, liquid, and stir in. Have also used a small amount of fresh chicken stock made at home - store bought has to be avoided because of the salt. When I was really desperate, I ate a pellet in front of our bird, saying yum etc! The vet had said it was fit for human consumption. It helped. Vet recommended: feed Harrisons first thing when bird is most hungry. Remove after half an hour. Offer fresh fruit and veg at lunch or evening. Return Harrisons dish after some fruit and or veg is eaten. Our bird then chooses to snack on Harrisons just before bedtime. Both health, weight and droppings have improved. Harrisons is expensive and a pain to store which is why I didnt give it five stars, but the benefit to health is worth it. It took time and some patience to convert.

Nelly my pre owned CAG had previously been fed on seed and pizza. I originally managed to wean her onto Zupreem pellets but they do not contain calcium needed for CAGS. She took to these pellets instantly and now rejects the Zupreem with the fresh veg she gets daily she eats a good bowlful of Harrisons a day and I know shes getting a good balanced diet to promote good health and a long life. No longer need to give calcium supplements. Prompt delivery and competitive pricing bring me back to Northern parrots every time

Hi.I was strongly advised by Little Harolds avian vet to revert him onto this pellet food and to keep him on it. The Dr. said to ad-lib with the quantity which meant he said leave as much in the bowl as my boy will eat. Im very happy with this product, as is Little Harold, and im ready to order the very big bag of it. The only obstacle in going ahead and ordering the big bag is that Harrisons state that the food has to be kept in the fridge and my fridge isnt big enough for something so big....

My 40yo rescue did really well on these with fresh salad veg and fruit. His feathers colours are stunning. Eventually, after 6 months or so, the vet said to put him on Lifetime. Winter is coming, and he goes outdoors a lot, so I still give him some as treats.

Hi. Brought this based on the recommendation of a vet. My parrot would not eat them so I got creative and crushed 7 or 8 of them with a spoon and mixed that with his oatmeal and he loves it. This food in combination with the removal of seed from his diet has drastically improved his health and he has become a lot more active and happier. If your bird does not like pellets consider mixing them with water and microwave them and give mushy.
