Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
High Potency is recommended for…
Birds being converted from a seed-based diet. Birds being converted from any other diet. Feed for a period of at least 6 months before transitioning to Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
African Greys, Large Macaws as a year-round diet, due to their increased nutritional requirements.
Birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, very active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from illness, affected by liver or kidney disease.
Birds that are weaning – feed for at least 6-9 months.
Birds that are breeding – Ideally feed for 2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned, or for at least 6 months before resuming Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

We switched our African Grey onto this food after rehoming a grey who already had Harrisons and although took him a while to get used to it he really enjoys it. We have the reassurance that he is eating it all and not picking out the bits he likes and leaving the rest. It would be better if it came in 2kg bags rather than only 1kg or 5kg, Highly recommended.

on say so of vet have tried another pellet natural food- bird hated it and only used it to throw on floor! decided to persaveer and bought some harrisons organic. the macaw absolutely LOVES IT - no problem in change over of food. five pound bag seems best bet so far despite the cost. product does have a lot of crumbs left over but if it extends macaws life span its worth it. his manners have noticably altered since being on organic food too!

I've only started using harrisons for less than a year and I've finally converted my grey to eating them. It takes time and patience and money but it's all worth it in the end. These are the only pellets that my african grey will eat and what's even better is its organic! It is a bit pricey to buy these all year round than normal seed diets but if you read the health benefits for your bird it is definately worth converting them to these.

I have an African Grey who is 5 years old. I finally realised that I was feeding him "junk food" in the form of highly sunflower based foods, so I bit the bullet and ordered small quantities of organic pelleted and natural seeds specifically designed for his digestion. He took to the Harrisons straight off and I only had to eat one or two to get him going. (They don't taste bad at all!) I mix it in with the other natural seeds and he clears his bowl during the course of the day.

It took a while to get my Hahn's to eat these, they look boring & don't smell or look very appetising. He does eat them now, but often wastes a lot, after breaking it up, only the large chunks get eaten.I can't say I've noticed a remarkable improvement in his condition. I saw a better improvement when feeding him Versele-Laga's Loro Parque seed & pellet mixture. Then again he doesn't eat a large quantity of these.

My African Grey prefers this to any other type of food. Unfortunately it leaves a lot of very small crumbs which she will not eat even when no fresh food is added, therefore it can be wastefull. It is a pity that it does not come in 2kg bags, as this would perhaps be cheaper than purchasing 2 x 1kg and a 5kg bag is too large and would be out of code before it is consumed.
