Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
High Potency is recommended for…
Birds being converted from a seed-based diet. Birds being converted from any other diet. Feed for a period of at least 6 months before transitioning to Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
African Greys, Large Macaws as a year-round diet, due to their increased nutritional requirements.
Birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, very active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from illness, affected by liver or kidney disease.
Birds that are weaning – feed for at least 6-9 months.
Birds that are breeding – Ideally feed for 2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned, or for at least 6 months before resuming Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

There is just not comparison. Harrison's is the best available for birds. My Grey (aged 7) has been eating for his entire life. I was once in a situation where I ran out of his High Potency, and had to buy a seed diet, and Quito wouldn't even look at it! I do give him some "human food" such as fruits and veggies as treats and to vary his diet.I've bought the 25lb bag, as it is the most cost effective, then bagged the food separately in large Ziplock bags. I then froze them all (yeah- my freezer was packed) and only take a small amount out to defrost at a time. I've found this the best way of feeding the food for cost. But in the end, how can I complain about cost when my parrot deserves the best :)It is quite crumbly, and my Grey seems to get perverse joy in just crumbling in front of me. But there is just no alternative to Harrison's High Potency for African Greys.

took a while for him to get used to them, but now he readily accepts them and i can honestly say seems to be a friendlier bird, less nippy and quieter.

My African Grey Parrot will be four years old Feb.2010,We have owned her since May 2006after having her for 2 months we converted her to Harrisons coarse, she is fine on it .The only other food she has is a little fruit and fresh water.AS it contains all the vitimins they need no other food required and very little wastage.Manage to keep the food fresh just by sealing the bag as once opened you are supposed to use it within four to six weeks the bag last for more like eight weeks. Can get much smaller bags but that works out very expensive.

I was doubtful about using this product as my bird loves his normal food but after weaning him off his usual food and giving her this food, her behaviour has changed quite dramatically, she no longer is quite so 'bitey' and she seems a lot happier and calmer. Her feathers look lovely and glossy. This was recommended by our vet, best decision we have made yet with regards to Smokie Jo's health.
