The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
Adult Lifetime is recommended as year round maintenance formula for healthy, non-breeding birds including Canaries, Finches, Budgies Lories, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Quakers, doves, pigeons and other small birds.
If you're changing your birds diet from a seed based one, then it is advised to complete a dietary program of High Potency (see product 58113) for a period of 6 months first.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

“Initially I tried my birds on Pretty Bird pellets which are very different to seed in size, smell and appearance. I think they will be much more likely to want to eat just this as their main diet as its almost the same size as seed and is a more natural looking light brown colour. Still in the early stages of introducing them to it, so heres to hoping that they eventually come to accept it!”

Thanks for your review, it can take time for birds to adjust to new foods so we hopefully they'll accept it soon.

“i bought this because I had read on many forums that pellet foods have more nutritional value than seeds, and I had previously had my 5 year old budgie on a seed and fresh fruit and veg diet, so I felt bad that I had potentially been depriving him of an important part of his diet. I ordered this product, very easily as usual, and it arrived within two days, which I was very impressed with. As for the product, again I am very impressed. You get a very good amount for the price, and it looks just like millet, so my budgie has taken to it immediately. I am currently mixing it with his seeds, and gradually reducing the seed to pellet ratio, so that it is mainly pellets. He still loves his veg, and seems more bright and cheery and happy, he is talking loads more than he used to! Very pleased with this product, would definitely recommend.”

“I decided to put my tiel on this food when I realised that she was stuffing her face on the millett in her seed mix and leaving the rest. It was quite a struggle. I had to give her no option but to eat it. I did find that it helped to change the food dish. I realised that she expected seed in her usual dish and whist she would eat the pellets when she was on my knee, she would not eat it from the dish. A change of dish and she ate every last crumb. I think she is in better condition. Her feathers look better and I am sure that the colour of her feathers is better. Well worth the struggle.”

“My two budgies just love this food, they accepted it very quickly and now know their mealtimes and let me know when its time to eat - there is minimal waste and they are a picture of health on this high quality complete diet, supplemented with green leafy veg.WIth traditional seed diets they would pick out their favourite seeds and discard the rest so I am relieved they are finally getting a balanced diet.”
