5 Rating 17 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
High Potency is recommended for…
Birds being converted from a seed-based diet. Birds being converted from any other diet. Feed for a period of at least 6 months before transitioning to Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
Cockatiels, Budgies, Finches and Canaries as a year-round diet.
Birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, very active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from illness, affected by liver or kidney disease.
Birds that are weaning – feed for at least 6-9 months.
Birds that are breeding – Ideally feed for 2 months prior to the breeding period and until chicks are weaned, or for at least 6 months before resuming Harrison’s Adult Lifetime.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

The first pellets I've found that my seed-addicted cockatiels actually like! This will be key to getting them onto a healthier diet. I only wish they sold them in bigger bags.

After talking to you folks, for advice I decided to try my lineolated parakeets on Harrison’s High Potency pellets. I emailed them to for advice & received lengthy email with advice. Two of birds ate straight away, & other two a little apprehensive. I was amazed how easy it was! They all ate veg before & continue to do so.They do prefer the pellets slightly moistened in order to swallow more easily. Am on third packet(1lb size) & must say they looking great, feathers beautiful, they happy & contented plus added bonus of not having to vacuum up loads of flung out seeds. Thankyou for your advice would def.recommend.

My canary is a very picky eater, food motivated but he had been stiring seed mixes and only eating a couple of different seeds. I tried vaious other kinds of seed mixes supliments and seed bars just to tempt him to eat more things but to no avail, he got poorley as a result. When the vet diagnosed a liver infection, fearing the worst blaming the picky eating, I asked the vets to help my bird onto Harrisons while he was an inpatient for a week with them.........What a difference now my canary is eating Harrisons Superfine, his colour is amazing, he sings more, his energy levels are improving, he is more alert and rather than stirring food dish, he EATS. I still offer a little seed as hes currently in the conversion process but by offering the food in a few places, in a dish on its own, some mixed with his regular food and a little on the floor on a mirror, I noticed he was eating it most readily from the mirror. ........I WAS old school, thinking seeds were the best for birds, letting them shell the seeds being an enrichment part of life BUT when you see your bird, stirring the dish, flinging more than hes eating and keep looking at you like, I,m hungry Mum, feed me. I did research, read ALL the Harrisons website, and knew for this bird it was the way to go. My canary activly chooses Harrioson first now, so I can gradually reduce the small amount of seed. Its good to know that when he eats this he is getting lots of vitamins and the balance. ........You can still feed small amounts of fruit or veg etc not more than 10 percent when on the Harriosons, and I have found leaving a dish of the harrisons in there all day and then putting small portions on the mirror, at meal times something else I would NOT have trusted in the past but its working, and he loves it. I sit and eat at meal times with him just after Ive put the Harrisons on the mirror and he is associating that with the time to eat. ........Im glad I did research first but the tiny size of this

Managed to trick my lovebird into thinking hes eating millet with this super fine pellet. Its the first time weve got him eating anything other than seed and weve noticed a massive change in his behaviour. Hes friendlier, more confident and not plucking his feathers. It might not all be down the this food but it has definitely improved his mood.Just a shame I cant get a big box of the stuff!
