Manzanita is a sweet-tasting, tropical hardwood. It is particularly strong and resists most bird`s chewing attempts indefinitely.
The flat perch helps to exercise your bird`s feet and prevent sores.
Although Manzanita can split when drying like any wood, this is not a fault, merely an indicator of the hardness, your Parrot certainly won`t mind.
Be sure to provide plenty of other material for your bird to chew though.

“I’ve had this perch for quite a few weeks. It came quickly and was well packed. Unfortunately my Grey won’t go anywhere near it. I even put his favourite treats on it but he just struggles to get them off while hanging on cage bars. This is so unusual as he plays with toys as soon as they go in his cage. Any suggestions as to how I can persuade him to use it?”

“All my parrots love these, can be twisted and turned so different sizes for feet exercise.So strong I think it will last for ever, easy to clean and they all love to clean beaks on this”

“My Grey absolutely loves this perch, his new go to place he even sleeps on it. I brought it because I had read flat perches were good for his feet and whilst I cant ask him I would say this is true, since buying this he stretches his feet much less that he used to. Where he used to lift his leg and extend his toes he seems not to need to do this anymore, he has also gotten much more confident walking on my living room floor since we brought this perch. Would definitely recommend”

“the one we bought had a bark section through the middle on one side, which was a little disapointing as over time it broke away, leaving a not so flat perch, but other than that its ok”
