Barrel of Fun - Entertaining Foraging Toy for Parrots Reviews

4.3 Rating 28 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Made from super tough polymer designed to withstand tough chewers, the Barrel of Fun - Entertaining Foraging Toy for Parrots is great for placing fruits, veggies or any treat inside.
Push in the chamber and turn to lock, then hang and watch instinct take over.
For an easier skill level, only partially turn the chamber. And for added foraging fun, hang several Barrel of Fun toys around your Parrot's cage and hide food in one or all.

I bought this for my African Grey to help him understand how to forage. When it arrived I took it off the chain and held it in my hand and showed him how to play with it and then showed him a nutriberry I was about to hide. Jasper was keen to get the nutriberry and took to the Barrel Of Fun in no time. I always introduce Jasper to new toys out of his cage before putting them inside to see how he reacts to them. Jasper now loves to play with this and although he finds it easy to get the treats out of, it is something he enjoys to do. I now hide treats in this on different days, at different times, etc so he never knows when he will find something. Jasper also enjoys playing with this even after retrieving his treat - shouting, screaming at it and banging it against the cage. Also to make it harder, wedge paper inside it so it's harder to open.

Bought this for our CAG Frodo and to be honest he had it open in a few seconds but he absolutely loves it,. Once he removes his treats he will stick food back into it lock it up ,re-open it and remove the food while laughing his head off.He has now taken to filling up the other end of it and will eat the food out of it later on.

I got this for my Eastern Rosella, but she has no interest. But that doesn't mean I don't think it's a good toy. I think if she had been able to see through it that it had treats, she would have loved it. But as it is she has no reason to touch it, since there is nothing on it to get her attention. I would think that for a bigger parrot it would be fun.

I love this. I am a lovebird, but I can still use it. It doesn't get completely filled up for me, but a few Harrisons in there and I'm on it trying to get it open quicker than you can say 'dinnertime'!Overall I can't fault it!
