Seed Corral - No Mess Bird Feeder Reviews

3.3 Rating 9 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

This clever see through feeder is designed to help you and your bird reduce the amount of mess created from their seeds. Using the metal hangers supplied you can easily fit the Seed Corral feeder inside or outside of your bird's cage.
Simply fill the back reservoir with your bird`s food and hang up in your bird`s preferred dining location. The see through design allows your bird to easily locate their food, and the carved wood perch makes accessing it easy and comfortable.
As your bird sits inside the Seed Corral any dropped seeds or empty husks remain inside, either falling back into the main reservoir or into the backup section around the perch. So now less seed and waste litters your bird`s cage, keeping it cleaner and healthier.
The tough clear plastic is easy to clean. However if you`re using your Seed Corral to feed your bird soft fruits and they really make a mess, just unscrew the wood perch and place it inside your dishwasher for a sparkling clean Seed Corral.

Bought this last week as it is advertised as appropriate for cockatiels but I find it way too small for my cockatiel. He can get in without problem but getting out is a real struggle. The hooks did fall off and took me a good whole day to find it. If you have a cockatiel, I would recommend getting the larger feeder because while it works, hence 2 stars instead of 1, it looks painfully small for my cockatiel.

Gutted that I wasted such money on this totally useless itemMy initial impression taking it out of box was good - the design seemed good -comfortable perch area for my canaries feet, but the clips that hold it on the cage swivel and fall out which makes it impossible to empty without the clips falling in the bin and after the second try, and me having to sift through bin for 2 little metal clips I had to give up. If I hadn’t thrown away the box I would’ve tried to get a refund. Also it’s impossible to fit single handedly because of the clips so I’ve be had to try and get both hands inside the cage to unhook it because it has to be put in and removed by the clips, otherwise they swing down so you can’t hook it on or they swing & ping off. If this could hold a lot of food perhaps it wouldn’t be so useless as one could perhaps bear the drama once a fortnight, but even just for my 2 canaries it only holds a couple of days food, It’s way too bothersome trying to get it in and out of cage and also sifting through bin or floor for clips. Wish I’d got the similar one that has fixed clips.

Again I was not sure if this product was suitable but she really likes it. It holds more food than her previous feeder and also can hold a jelly pot securely. I have chosen to fit it outside the cage and it does not totally prevent food spillage but it is far better. She is showing her appreciation by getting very sexy, as I am not a breeder I am not too sure if that is a good thing but she is certainly much happier. My bird previously delighted in throwing her food all over the cage floor, so thankyou for this well designed product.

I am not sure why people have issue with the hooks. Mine have ridges, so they slide in, and once twisted so the ridge is not aligned they cannot slide out until twisted back and re-aligned. I have a cockatiel who is 1 yr old. He ignored it for about 24 hours but after that - hungry I guess - he jumped in and ate all his breakfast. I made sure he had access to his fresh fruit and veg while he was ignoring his new seed and pellet dish so no danger of him going hungry. I am pleased that the feeder is large enough for Hugo to fit in, and I put an extra perch nearby so he can easily climb into the feeder and step on the wooden perch within. I carefully considered where to hang the feeder - so Hugo can access it without issue, and so I can take it in and out with ease. I would recommend this product as it does reduce the mess of husks and pellets that get strewn around the outside of the cage, and Hugo appears happy with it too.

Good for the smaller type of birds and parakeets, Larger birds just bit pieces out of the perch in it and could also break or split the plastic on it and bite the clip hole at the back that hold it on the cage. It does stop spillage of food, but only a little, as most larger birds take food out and hold it with foot then drop it. At 16 pounds a holder there over priced for the amount of food they save.
