Original Foraging Wheel - Interactive Creative Parrot Toy Reviews

The Foraging Wheel is one step up from the entry level Foraging Sphere Toy. It attaches to the side of the cage with ease. The wheel has prongs which fit in the gaps of the cage bars. Once positioned you screw the nut part on.
The wheel has five compartments, watch as your bird has to spin the wheel to collect their treats from the small hole at the front. If your Parrot is new to foraging toys, let them watch you place the treats inside.

I have two african greys who absolutely love foraging toys. I have yet to find one that they have not destroyed within 2 weeks. This has held up longer than most! After emptying it of treats the "proper" way they proceeded to unscrew the wheel. You need to do this when filling it with treats and it was probably my mistake doing it in front of them! This meant it came crashing to the ground and the very small nut on the back was lost forever. Spent 3 days looking for it with two very satisfied little greys watching me crawl about on me hands and knees. Now in the process of finding a nut that fits the toy.Would recommend this to less destructive birds.

I was having trouble converting my Grey from a seed based diet to a complete diet. Until I bought this, granted he won't eat the complete diet out of a bowl but loves getting it out of this wheel. Only fruit , veg and sprouts in his bowls now :))

This is great for my grey. The holes are fine and my grey always manages to get even the tiny treats inside, though the downside to this toy is my grey can easily remove the clips on the wheel, so I always find the wheel on the bottom of the cage where he has taken it off. The toy lasted long time before he eventually broke it by snapping off one of the clips.

While this intriqued my CAG immediately, (she has had something similar in the past), I found that she occasionally has difficulty getting the food/treats out. However she does manage with perserverance. Perhaps two holes of different shapes would be better rather than two the same shape? She seems to be attempting to 'reshape the holes' herself mind lol. Will update if she manages!Good that it is dishwasher proof as it means sticky/messy food can be uses without hassel.

My parrot has enjoyed this wheel and although she is only small she has found it easy to use. It keeps her busy and entertained. Sometimes she just plays with the wheel even when she is not trying to feed.
