The Foraging Wheel is one step up from the entry level Foraging Sphere Toy. It attaches to the side of the cage with ease. The wheel has prongs which fit in the gaps of the cage bars. Once positioned you screw the nut part on.
The wheel has five compartments, watch as your bird has to spin the wheel to collect their treats from the small hole at the front. If your Parrot is new to foraging toys, let them watch you place the treats inside.

“this seems like a really good toy and my Green Cheek Conure did get the gist of it. He knew that there were holes to get at the seed but he didnt quite understand how to turn it and didnt seem strong enough to turn it. Instead he opted to try and stand on it and reach through the holes to try and get at the seed.Seems like a great toy for larger birds but for something as tiny as him it was a bit too much. Id suspect Sun or Jenday conures would be the smallest thing to tackle this really”

“Charlie Farley is finding this a little more of a challenge to understand. But was not fazed at all when it first went in the cage, perhaps its the colour or material, he wont usually go near a new toy for several days.”

“Loved it for my parrot, filled with fruit and nuts kept her busy,! my only issue was that the part that fastens to cage was cracked on arrival, the packer must have seen that, so was disappointed. So it didnt last long before it broke in two pieces so for that reason I gave it 2 stars.”

“We got our grey used to it on the sofa, then put it in his cage. He will not yet touch it in his cage. We will move it back to the sofa to get him used to it again.The only thing I think is missing is a tray to catch the food that falls out as it turns and when pecked at, so a lot is wasted.”

“My bird has his regular food in his bowl but I put treats into this wheel. Pistachios and Harrisons Power Treats. Makes them last a little longer. I hinged my wheel at the top not the side as shown in the picture. I do not know if that makes a difference.Unfortunately this website will not allow the use of punctuation such as apostrophes and brackets so apologies are offered, it is not my fault!”

“Given to my African Grey, Rosie, for Christmas. Showed her how to use it a couple of times and she worked it out very quickly. I use unsalted cashews, which both my birds love - so do we!- and she soon has fun extracting them. It is positioned on the cage door so is easy to fill. Now thinking of getting one for my other African, in separate cage, who also loves nuts but is more suspicious of toys that are not bells!”

“Freddy our African Grey parrot loves this toy. We filled it with lots of different treats and at first he just sat and watched it he would not go near it. Well that lasted all of 5 minutes, he soon figured out how to make the wheel spin to get to the treats. He does not stop until it is empty, even if he does not want the treat it lets that fall to the fall and goes for another one. The product is made of excellent quality, easy to clean and keeps Freddy happy for hours on end.”
