This is a great prop. Its good for interactive play and developing your relationship as you can both mess about with it together. Its not really important exactly how they play with it. If you use it as an educational toy they will learn something. Its a great way to teach a variety of words without it feeling repetitive and associate them to the real world too. Numbers, colours, actions. They are all there if you use your imagination. It is for supervised play. If you are looking for something to stick in a cage or to keep your bird occupied while you are doing something else this isnt what you are looking for. If you cant spend enough time playing with your bird to get value from this you should probably ask yourself whether you should be keeping them in the first place.

I bought this as a step up for the fetch trick. Its pretty, brightly coloured and a good size. Id say on the larger size for my senegal. Shes about as tall as it but she can still reach. Lots of pieces to it. You could easily use the disks as foot toys if you werent fussed about using it for trick. For a trick you can teach colours to your parrot. She loves to pull the disks off and then push them and throw them around. Great price, great product

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry the product was smaller than you expected. We do include the dimensions and a picture with a Parrot for scale, we'll review and see if we can make it any clearer. We would be happy to refund or replace the toy as you haven't opened it - please get in touch.

My CAG loves this but is not interested in its academic possibilities ! He spends hours removing the rings and throwing them on the floor and frequently spends a lot of time reducing the rings to splinters. His ability to recognise the colours only stretches as far as preferring the red and yellow rings to chew up. However, this toy does keep him busy for hours and so is worth buying. I just wish that the extra rings did cost a bit less.

Thanks for your review. As you say this isn't a chew toy, it's a trick / training toy only intended to be used under supervision. The pieces are lightweight to make it easy for birds to use, and I agree they're not strong enough to stand up to continued chewing. I'm sorry if you expected otherwise.

I bought this toy with good intentions for my African Grey but within 2 weeks he had just chewed and destroyed the coloured rings.....and usually I like to buy something that will last a bit longer than that!
