Bird Kabob - Mini - Natural Parrot Toy Reviews

4.8 Rating 28 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Shreddable chunks of Agave (cactus wood) have been threaded and knotted onto a length of sisal rope. This totally irresistible natural material is loved by pet birds all over the globe.
This Bird Kabob - Mini Natural Parrot Toy is excellent for smaller beaks, and hanging it up in your bird`s cage provides them with a fun, natural and safe material toy they can really get their beak into.
Shredding and pulling pieces off as your bird climbs and swings around followed by chewing them all up is just great fun and it helps to keep your bird from becoming bored.
Please Note: Colouration of the wood may vary based on the environmental conditions during the growing and drying cycle. Also due to the potential presence of an omnipresent organism (A.Pullulans) which is killed during the baking process.

Well when this arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see it was nice and small, ideal size for a micro parrot! The only thing I do not like about this was the fibre it was strung together with as I am not sure it was natural and it looked like a choking or toe trapping hazard, also there was no clasp to hang it from the cage by. But, being the enterprising sort that all pet owners have to be I cut the rope off and put the wooden discs on a metal kebab skewer which means I can attach it to the cage like a perch.Pickle usually takes a little while to trust a new toy or perch but he was happily killing this within a few minutes of being introduced, like the tiny psychopath he is.Thumbs up for the wood but thumbs down for the string.

Thank you Amber and Pickle for your review, We're glad to hear Pickle took to this mini bird kabob in no time. They certainly are good fun to shred and chew. We've double checked with Bird Kabob and they have confirmed that they use sisal rope to hold their toys together. As you mention ropes can be hazardous and we recommend any rope material is routinely checked and maintained. Using a metal kabob is a great idea and one we're sure other Parrot owners will find useful.

I bought these to see what mine would do to it but I only put one in on a piece of ribbon in at a time for my budgies and they just can wait to get stuck right into them tearing and chewing it apart. I would recommend this for all fussy birdies it comes in all different sizes.

So nice to have a toy that is NOT plastic and safe for Georgie to attack! My only suggestion would be to add a small bell either at the top or the bottom of this toy. Will definitely replace this when hes chewed it to bits.

My 2 cockatiels love this toy so much, I have just ordered 2 more. They enjoy chewing on it and destroying each layer. I usually buy different toys when one wears out but this is such a favourite I am making repeat purchases.

My 2 cockatiels, Poppy and Matey, just love this toy. They are having great fun chewing on it and shredding it to pieces. It looked a bit boring to me because it is not brightly coloured but my birds love it so I can recommend it to other bird owners. It seems to be the right size for a cockatiel to hold with one foot and gnaw on at the same time. When this toy is chewed up I will buy more it has proved such a success.

This is small in size so probably wouldn't suit a larger bird or a heavy chewer as it is made of soft wood. My birds are a conure and a cockatiel. This toy went ignored for ages after purchase so I pushed some sunflower seeds into the wood to encourage my birds to chew them out. That plan failed as the birds pulled them out more easily than I pushed them in of course and then the toy was ignored again. Then my conure decided to have a little nibble on it, next thing I knew, the toy was disappearing and was completely destroyed after a week.I've since bought some more kabobs of varying styles as he enjoyed it so much and will rotate them with the rest of their toys. They aren't very long lasting once the birds start chewing but my two find the wood on other toys too hard.

My budgies ignored this a bit at the beginning. But once they started chewing it, they all start ripping it. Great product and is long lasting.
