Puzzle Treat Tower Parrot Toy Reviews

3.4 Rating 7 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

This Puzzle Treat Tower has been designed to keep your Parrot entertained. The coloured see through acrylic allows your Parrot to see the reward you have placed inside. They just need to work out how to make it fall to the opening at the bottom.
Retrieving their reward involves pulling out the three platforms, making the reward fall towards the opening at the bottom. The flat base helps to prevent the tower from being tipped over.
The best rewards to use are those that your Parrot adores the most (edible or non edible). It might be a nut still in its shell, pieces of fruit or a wood shape.

my corvid took a little while to figure this toy out but it is so easy to remove the slides that it is not a challenge for him at all anymore. he still enjoys it but for long lasting stimulation, I would only recommend it for smaller birds as it will be no match for big bright parrots.

Got this for our little cockatiel. Foraging puzzles are his thing and habit normally works things out just by watching you put it together but this took him about 5 minutes to start getting the gist. Hes still not quite cracked it and after a few months is still working on the quickest way to get the food out.Only issue is he quickly worked out that its easier to jump on top and grab the food from above than it is to pull the slats out so could really do with a lid of some sort - weve managed to fashion one for ours!

This is a great idea for a toy however, this particular one is not durable enough for the more destructive birds. The plastic is quite weak compared to the polycarbonate of the Natures Instinct Reusable foraging puzzle toys. Small food and seed will fall through the gaps.Mine was also not stuck together very well, the top is loose along two edges and needs to be fixed before Jasper finds the weak spot! That being said my Amazon is not very rough so it is still in tact.

This is a lovely colourful puzzle, however, not sure it would stand up for any length of time against bigger birds. My CAG sussed it pretty quickly, then discovered he can get the treats much quicker if he tips it upside down. There is also quite a gap between the sliders and the edge of the tower, so only really works with larger treats. It did however, keep my CAG entertained for a little while.

Guest round? You will find George tail-up in his toy box reaching for this toy! He just loves it!! But only ever seems to use it for showing off to guests. He doesnt really care too much if it is just us but will use it if I go and set it up for him as just a toy for us both to interact with. He adores this toy for impressing guests though, and will wait patiently on the table for me to fish it out of his toy box, and load it with a treat nut. He worked it out quite fast and is now so fast that I tend to have to hold the unit still or he knocks or pulls it over in excitement. He loves the praise of the impressed guests and I know full well that he only does it to show off...because he leaves the nut he freed, or puts it back into the top of the tower to go again.....

He would probably have loved it and was very interested but his first approach was just to bite hard and tug and hey presto it fell apart - an expensive 10 seconds! Not robust enough.

I bought this for my green cheek conure but I was a bit sceptical about its size to start with (too tall) or he wouldn't be strong enough to pull the tabs out.I needed have worried, I put a nutriberry straight into the hardest level and he had the whole thing sussed in less than a day, now he completes it in less than 30 seconds. My only gripe with this toy is that I was looking for something a bit more challenging. The toy isn't really suitable for putting small seeds in as they tend to fall straight down the sides of the tabs (I tried with sunflower seeds) but a tiny ball of spray millet should work for birds which wont eat big nuts.
