Sanded Nail Trimming Shower Perch for Parrots - Large Reviews

3.5 Rating 8 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Known for their durability, sanded perches have stood the test of Parrots for many years and this Sanded Shower Perch for Parrots - Large offers all the same benefits that your standard sanded perch does.
Tough plastic tubing and connectors add to the overall durability and the non-toxic sand coating is designed to provide many years of service, keeping beaks, feet and nails in top condition.
The fine rough texture of the sand acts like the bark on trees would in the wild. Wearing your Parrot's nails down to keep them trim. Over grown nails can cause discomfort and difficulty for your Parrot when standing or perching.
Can be folded away when not in use.
Please note the colour supplied may vary from the image shown.

The fixings that hold the suction pads are not suitable at all. We had this perch delivered yesterday and used it yesterday evening. One of the suction pad fixings came away from the suction pad and the perch swivelled down with our bird on it, he got in a state and ended up upside on the bath surface. Until the design with the suction pads is revised, I would not recommend use, high risk of injury to the bird using.

We have had our perch a while now and it hasnt failed us yet. It hasnt fallen off the tiles, and it seems to give our CAG a decent grip. The perch itself is a decent thickness. It is tricky to clean, as its textured, but overall a good buy.

My macaw got on to the perch straight away, and its so much easier to shower her on the perch, than on my shoulder! The only thing Im not to happy about is the suction cups, they could have been better. But all in all Im happy with this buy!

Still trying to get our African grey used to it, so haven't really tried it out yet. It would be a lot better if it weren't covered with sparkly bits that come off on your hands and add to the fear of a nervous parrrot. Also, we would have liked a choice of colour. We did email in advance to try and check out the range of colours but our email was ignored. Very rude.

i have a african grey parrot called kaku and we shower him daily but it was a bit difficult because he would jus fly of while we showered him. after i bought the shower perch he stays sat on it and actually enjoys having a shower. it is also easy to clean his feet now as he can lift them up one by one easily and with out slipping like he would if he was in the tub. i would strongly recomend this product to all bird owners who have difficulty showering their bird.

I bought this perch in a large size last year, and was disappointed with it, although the parrot loved it. The suckers were misshapen and did not stick very well, and after a few months' use, the suckers simpy fell off the screws that were holding them in place. I replaced it with a Happy Perch, which I thought was great, but my Grey is so terrified of it (I think he thinks it looks like a snake!) that after many weeks I've given up trying to get him near it & resorted to buying another sandy perch instead.I've just received a medium-sized sandy perch, & it is a vast improvement on the original one: the suckers are now much more sturdy and are properly shaped, and it has decent screw attachments holding the suckers to the perch.I have to say that I was reluctant to spend my money on another sandy perch, but it looks as though this product has been improved enormously, & I would recommend it to others now. And for anyone having problems with it sticking - it needs to go the opposite way round to the photo so the 2 suckers are on the bottom - even the ones with dodgy suckers will stick if put this way round; this also stops the parrot from chewing them off!

I bought one from here and one from another retailer and was really excited as my birds love showers and also sitting with me whilst i take a long soak with a good book. I also use it as a mobile perch for my babies in the kitchen/dining room when i am having to work on my PC.They took to the perches straight away and will happily sit for hours on it, the only worry i have is that you could not step to far away from it whilst being used, the suction pads could really do with some form of beak protection to stop naughty little boys from tweaking it with their beaks ... one of my boys can actually get enough grip around the suckers to pull it off the surface it is stuck too .. resulting in the perch not being secure enough for them. Great bit of kit, good fun, babies love it just a slight design flaw for me ...
