4.5 Rating 17 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Sanded perches have been successfully keeping the nails and beaks of Parrots and pet birds trim for years. Are you fed up of stressing your Parrot each and every time their nails need trimming. Fit a Sanded Nail Trimming Perch to your Parrot's cage and let it do all the work reducing the veterinary bills too.
Sanded Nail Trimming Perches are the safest, kindest way to keep your bird`s feet healthy. A natural wood branch covered with a non toxic rough sand coating which wears down your Parrot's nails just like tree bark would.
Sanded Nail Trimming Perches are durable, they won`t crack, chip, or shatter if dropped and are tough enough to survive anything you and your Parrot need it for.

These are wonderful for keeping my parrots nails trim. The only thing I would say is that large is not as large as I thought - they are long but not as thick as I hoped - but they do the job!

Different from photo therefore does not allow for a climbing and gripping motion for nails

Our African grey uses this as his TV perch and sits every night chuckling away. However he does like to grind his beak on it a lot which can sometimes be a bit worrying.. but has never caused any damage. His claws are lovely though.. keeps them down to just the right length.

These perches are great and I use them all the time in large and medium sizes for my African Grey in order to give him different sized perches to hold on to. They do have to be replaced every so often as they get worn down. The last one I bought had a bit of a defect in it and Alfie managed to strip all the sand paper surface off. But he had a good time doing so, so I couldnt grumble too much! The only slight issue I have with these is that the colour of the perch sometimes wears off on to Alfies feet. So he ends up with green, pink or brown feet sometimes. Not a major issue, as it does come off.

Bought this for my African Grey. Its not big enough for a Grey even though it says 'large'. It was too smal too attach to the cage via the metal discs and wing-nut. I had removed the packaging before I noticed so couldn't send it back. Luckily I have cockatiels so they had it and I must admit they seem to love sitting on it an nibbling it. Not suitable for larger cages with wide bars but perfect for small parrots like cockatiels and conures as the extra width makes it more comfortable for them to grip.

I bought this perch as an experiment. We have a variety of sizes of perches in the cage. Whilst the perch is quite large, our three budgies have totally accepted it and it has become the perch of choice. Their claws actually engage with the surface and they are also using it to trim their beaks. The perch is also a bit bouncy which took them by suprise at first but they enjoy travelling along it. The curvy shape also adds a bit of interest. The length was 3cm short of the actual cage width, but the screw fixing is quite long and we have put a wooden washer on the screw to extend the length a bit. The fixings are very sound, two large metal washers that fit either side of the bars and it feels very secure. I would buy a replacement for this product when it needs changing and it is good value for money. Three happy budgies are the best recommendation..........
