Read New Venture Products Ltd Reviews

Flag Water Based Rust Converter is a simple to use, easy to apply rust converter that converts rust and leaves a protective coating. Available in  250ml, 1 litre, 2.5 litre and 5 litre sizes, Flag Rust Converter is an economic and effective way to treat rust and leave an attractive satin black finish.
Flag Rust Converter is a water based heavy duty rust converter which not only neutralises and encapsulates the rust but also forms a tough and attractive black satin finish. It can be left as a standalone finish or can be overcoated with a solvent based primer or topcoat, please note that it should not be overcoated with Xylene based paints such as Protectakote, Safekote or Flag's Anti Corrosive QD Metal Primer. If in doubt it is always advisable to do a test patch. As with all water based finishes it should not be applied when the substrate and/or the ambient temperatures are below 10°C.

Areas of use:
Interior and Exterior (nb. minimum application temperature of 10°C)

Too early to say how well it works over time, covers just like paint so can’t see how it is actual converting the rust underneath. Used it a few days ago on some metal sheeting and left it out, it’s rained since and seems ok today.

This is a great product. I would recommend this to anybody. I did the entire chassis of a truck, used 2.5 litres. The viscosity is what I like about this product, so easy to paint on.

I've put the star rating down to one, which might be a little unjust. But being as they haven't replied, and their rust converter doesn't seem to work, it seemed the right score. I have an old dump truck that's been sat in a barn, and the metal has gone flakey in places. I scraped any loose rust off, wire brushed over the affected areas, then in all that hot dry weather I painted it with Flag Rust Converter. A few days later we had some light rain, causing small blue and rusty little streaks all over the painted areas! So all the talk about "converting" and "encapsulating rust", "that doesn't need overcoating" seems to be a bit hollow. From my experience Flag Rust Converter, doesn't convert, or encapsulate rust, it isn't waterproof, and will need overcoating with more paint!
